Woman drives into restaurant, walks away

Patrons and employees at a Greeley Village Inn got an early Halloween trick this afternoon when a woman trying to park her car ran into the building.
The woman, who was not cited by police in the incident, was trying to park her car in the handicapped parking space at about 1:45 p.m. at the restaurant, 921 30th Ave.
“I was in the office and it sounded like someone had broken some dishes,” said Diana Bellendir, general manager for the restaurant. “I said, 'Aww.. Who broke the dishes now?' Then I came out of my office and it was a bit more than that.”
Sgt. Susie West of he Greeley police said, the woman just hit the wrong pedal as she was trying to park.
“It was just confusion between the brake and the gas pedal and the driver went through the side of the building,” West said. “It did not go entirely through, but it did cave in the side of the building. You could see daylight (through the bricks). We had to get the building inspector ou

UNC football holds off South Dakota

The University of Northern Colorado football team overcame 17 penalties with a fourth-quarter game-winning touchdown drive to escape with a 21-17 nonconference victory over South Dakota at Nottingham Field.
UNC capped the 13-play, 89-yard game-winning drive with a 1-yard TD run by Andre Harris with 5:51 remaining.
UNC quarterback Bryan Waggener completed 21-of-32 passes for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the Bears.
UNC wide receiver Alex Thompson had seven receptions for 109 yards and a TD.
Both TD passes came in the first half. Waggener hit Thompson down the left sideline for a 53-yard TD pass in the first quarter to give the Bears a 7-0 lead.
Waggener also hooked up with freshman Jace Davis on a 24-yard scoring strike in the second quarter. It was the first career touchdown for Davis.
USD's lone touchdown in the first half came on an 8-yard scoring strike from Noah Shepard to Tom Flanigan with 1:01 left in the half.
